Dear PSSD Community,

Shane Paschall
December is a joyful month at PSSD! I hope everyone enjoyed our full week of Thanksgiving break and had time to rest and recharge. This month, be sure to keep an eye out for all the Christmas fun happening across our schools, including the 10 Days of Christmas activities, our Christmas concerts, and the Paris Christmas Parade. We look forward to celebrating this special season together with our students and families.

Attendance Matters

Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to school, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break. I just wanted to remind everyone that student tardiness is as impactful as an absence. When a student gets to school late, they've missed important instructional time as well as causing a minor disruption to the class when they arrive. We understand that emergencies happen, but being on time is as important as being in school.

Thank you for ensuring your child not only gets to school but gets there on-time.

Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Bulldogs & Lady Bulldogs Kick Off Season

The excitement is back in the gym as the Inman Middle School Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs officially kick off their 2024–2025 basketball season. Both teams have been working hard in preseason practices, building their skills, teamwork, and confidence as they prepare to take on a challenging schedule. Coaches and players alike are eager to show their school and community what they can accomplish on the court this year.

The start of the season has brought plenty of energy, thanks in large part to the incredible support from the Inman Middle School band and cheerleaders. Their dedication and enthusiasm make every game feel like a true home-court advantage.

With determination, school pride, and the support of the entire Inman community behind them, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs are ready for an exciting and successful season.

Honoring Our Heroes

This past month, our PSSD community came together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country through a series of heartfelt Veterans Day programs. These events not only celebrated the dedication of our veterans but also gave our students a meaningful opportunity to learn about service, sacrifice, and gratitude.

Our music programs also played a memorable role—IMS chorus and bands performed patriotic selections that added a thoughtful and emotional touch to each event.

One of the most impactful moments came when local veterans spoke to students about their experiences. Their stories helped bring history to life and offered a powerful reminder of the courage and commitment behind their service.

These celebrations not only honored the veterans in attendance but also strengthened the connection between our school and the broader community.

Thank you to all the veterans who joined us. Your presence made these programs truly special, and we are honored to have had the opportunity to recognize your service.

Paint the Plow Project at Rhea

Students at Rhea Elementary School in Paris, Tennessee, recently traded pencils for paintbrushes as part of the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Region 4 Paint the Plow project. The statewide initiative invites students to transform TDOT snowplows into rolling works of art while learning about winter weather safety and the essential role TDOT crews play in keeping roads clear.

Rhea Elementary’s plow, themed “Clear the Way for a Brighter Day,” features a radiant sun with rainbow-colored rays and bold, hand-painted lettering stretching across the blade. The cheerful design is full of color, creativity, and heart.

Before hitting the roads this winter, the plow will make appearances at local events and parades across West Tennessee, spreading a little sunshine wherever it goes.

Thank you to our STEAM teacher, Erin Sinclair for leading the way in this project.
